The Osielec village Print E-mail
The Osielec village is situated on the railway from Cracow to Zakopane and by the road from Bielsko-Biala to Nowy Sacz. It is a summer-resort village, located in areas of picturesque, crucial section of the Skawa River, which separate the Beskid Sredni’s Mountain Range from the Babia Góra’s Mountain Range. The hills of the Łysa Góra Mountain 630 m, the Przykca Mountain 738 m and the Cupla Mountain 887 m reign over the village. The village was found in the middle of the XVI century by Mikolaj Jordan.


The most beautiful historic monuments, worth of seeing are: St. Philip and Jacob’s Church in neoclassical style built in years 1838 – 41 and also a presbytery. The altar and organ made by folk artists from Waksmund and Lubon are located inside of the church.

On the slope of the Łysa Góra Mountain is located a large quarry – currently newly exploited. At the foot of the quarry flows the Skawa River, which meandering creates bends, which in summer are wonderful place to sun bathing. Driving from the Osielec to the Rabka’s side, you may to stop on the Osielecka Góra Mountain, where if the weather is fine you can admire a panorama of the Tatra Mountain’s. And near is located the “Przykiec” Inn with a car park, offering some tasty dishes.
